Cognition

Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT)® is effective in improving cognitive functioning including memory, attention, executive functioning, visual-spatial neglect and orientation. Sessions may include musical memory activities, songwriting, or learning mnemonic devices.

Speech & Language

Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT)® improves speech and language outcomes for individuals with aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia of speech and other voice disorders impacting a person's ability to produce speech. Sessions may focus on improving fluency, intelligibility, articulation, volume, oral motor coordination, breath control, and pacing through singing familiar songs, speaking to a rhythmic stimulus or engaging in vocal exercises.

Sensorimotor

Standardized, evidence-based Neurologic Music Therapy® interventions have been proven to improve movement and motor functioning in areas including walking (gait training), balance, motor control, range of motion, and more. Sessions may involve exercising or walking to rhythmic stimuli or playing instruments.

Individual and Group Services Available

In-home services are provided in the comfort of the client's own home. Instruments and materials will be provided during the session; clients do not need to purchase any additional instruments. In-person sessions are available in the Greater Boston area. Virtual music therapy sessions are also available to clients outside of the Greater Boston area.


Group sessions are available for assisted living facilities, day programs, group homes, memory care facilities and community organizations. Submit an inquiry to learn more.
